Watching Momma, I've learned - -  pray and pray some more.  Momma begins and ends each day literally on her knees - - in prayer.  To some this might seem like just a religious ritual. However, I've come to realize her prayers have chartered her course in life and covered her family for years.  Prayer is simply communicating with God.  This involves a little talking and a WHOLE lot of listening - - and then doing what He says do. This is Part 2 of a three part blog series. More times than I can remember, Momma would say to me 'good things come to those that wait'.  This was Mom’s response whenever, as a teenager, I would languish over sitting at home Sunday afternoon and evening watching the TV program lineup - - while all my girlfriends had dates.  What she was saying to me is, ‘Wait on the Lord - - do not compromise your standards just to keep up with others - - do not let other people's time become your timetable - - stop comparing your life to others.'  And, after 38 years of marriage to the wonder-full man God blessed me to be found by years later (in His time), I know she was right!!  (Thanks, Momma!!) Lessons Learned from Momma (Part 1)

Labor Day weekend, 2011, my then 87 year old Mother was with me, in Atlanta, along with my husband, our children and grandchildren. That Saturday night 'us girls' (Momma, two of her granddaughters, one of her great-granddaughters and me) went to eat sushi. What a wonder-full evening we had!!!  It was Momma's first time eating sushi.  Seeing her use chopsticks, while eating seaweed salad and various sushi rolls, was sheer joy and just down right fun!!  We all laughed SO MUCH!!  And 'us girls' walked away so enriched by the experience. Thinking back on that evening, I am again amazed at this wonder-full woman!
